Under the Andaman & Nicobar Administration, the Department of Labour, Employment & Training (DLET), governs the administrative affairs of the vocational training centers in the Bay of Bengal’s Indian Archipelago, Andaman and Nicobar. Vocational training is imparted through the government-managed Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and the private-owned Industrial Training Centers (ITCs) in the islands, like in all the states in India.
The vocational training centers in India are affiliated to the National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT) that acts as an advisory body for all the state governments on the conduct of the trade programs.
As part of the efforts of the state governments of all Indian states, the curriculum of the trade courses is updated on a regular basis to make the programs more industry-relevant; thus, facilitating employment for the candidates in the respective trades. Besides, greater availability of skilled manpower leads to the development of industries and in turn, the overall growth of the state and country.
The ITIs and ITCs conduct 2 types of training that include for both engineering and non-engineering trades. Moreover, a variety of trades can be opted for, by the aspirants, in both categories.
Andaman & Nicobar NCVT ITI
There are 4 semesters of the trade courses and pupils have to appear for exams of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th ones. They can download their results of the semester exams from NCVT’s official website, https://ncvtmis.gov.in/Pages/Home.aspx, upon entering the required details like roll number and semester name.
