Nagaland is a state in India that is situated towards the Northeastern part of the country. In the state, several industries have started operations and development is taking place at a rapid pace. In turn, the demand for skilled labor continues to increase. The state has invested in setting up government-managed Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and privately-owned Industrial Training Centers (ITCs) to increase the skill base. Both the job seekers and industries can benefit through these training schemes.
The Central Government has the responsibility of structuring the framework of the vocational training; while the state governments have to implement the training schemes. The National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT) provides guidance on managing the skill training centers in the country.
The aspirants have a choice in over 150 trades (including the engineering and non-engineering ones) to pursue. There are a variety of short-term and long-term trade courses that can be applied for. Also, they have the option of enrolling in Apprenticeship training. Upon completion of the trade courses and training, the candidates are conferred with valid certifications, based on which they can approach the employment exchanges for jobs across the state.
